Our Story

How Zoop Started

Zoop Recruitment formed in 2019 and amalgamated the founder’s passion for Contract Law and Hospitality.

Having worked in the hospitality sector running pubs, a nightclub and wedding venue whilst studying Law, Gary took a decision to take a step back from front of house management roles and put his knowledge in the industry to task.

Whilst there may be over 40,000 recruitment agencies in the country, Gary’s vision was to install a business ethos that had industry knowledge at the forefront. Gary started out of a small office room on the High Street in Market Harborough, and quickly found himself working with local pubs around the county.

2020 came and the pandemic hit. That made recruiting for hospitality a very difficult trade, due to everywhere being closed. However, one industry that needed recruitment was the care industry, and that was an industry in which Gary had already established a wide network, having recruited chefs into care homes across the East Midlands already. So Zoop continued its steady growth throughout lockdown.

2021 saw a new director come on board. Gary’s cousin Dan had spent over 15 years working in Sales and management and was looking at transferring those years of experience into his own business. With a vast network of companies that were needing office staff in both Administration and Sales staff, it was perfect for the two cousins to come together and relaunch Zoop as a family business.  With a strong business model covering 4 sectors, growth was immediate and the demand and brand elevated so it was only a matter of time before the two directors would decide to start hiring employees to grow further.

Towards the end of 2021, they hired their first two employees. Through the government backed Kickstart scheme, they decided to take on 2 people that they could train up as they in turn brought in new business. Thus Dylan and Kyle came into the fold. With Dylan focusing on media as well as networking, and Kyle helping to expand the care sector, the 4-member team left 2021 stronger than ever, now serving clients nationwide instead of just the East Midlands.

2022 brought massive change to the company. With clients and work increasing now was the time to employ an office manager to join the team. Joe, came onboard in March, and then we continued to expand our team, bringing in consultants with experience in specific sectors. Having been in contact with candidates with strong backgrounds in Engineering, Finance, and Hair & Beauty, we decided it was only natural to get these sectors covered for clients. By the start of 2023, we were now a 11-strong team that operated on the whole top floor on the High Street, having expanded far beyond that little room just a couple of years earlier.

What does the future have in store?

You know what they say, the sky’s the limit. And given our continued success in multiple industries across the UK, our goals keep getting bigger.

We have new sectors we will be expanding into soon as well. Gary recently celebrated graduating with a law degree, so he will be looking to provide support in legal recruitment.

Our reach has recently become international, with clients in Ibiza having signed on with us, and even having some American companies joining our clientele.

We have also expanded into the world of Professional sports with an array of Professional Athletes who have their own business’s working with us as well as Professional Sports Clubs using our services to assist with their recruitment.

Our current recruitment consultants have built on their networks and have become highly regarded in their respective fields, so will soon be managing their sectors as they train new staff underneath them.
