Job description

Our client is a well established independent therapy team with contracts with independent schools, mainstream schools, families and Local Authorities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) who would like to join our amazing team of 15 SaLTs and 10 Occupational Therapists (OTs) as we expand.

We currently have an exciting position working with children and young people on the Autism Spectrum and/ or with SEMH needs and SLCN in specialist and mainstream school environments as well as directly with families in their homes in the Coventry.

The role is suitable for a Newly Qualified SaLT (BAND 5)- through to a Specialist SaLT (BAND 6) with the role adapted accordingly through mentoring, supervision and responsibilities.

There will also be the opportunity to be involved with supporting adults and children on the Autism Spectrum Assessment pathway in joining a number of the team who are ADOS-2 trained as well as completing Developmental Histories and School Observations.

They provide many opportunities to attend formal training for you to develop your skills in speech and language therapy and autism assessments as well as monthly group CPD with the wider team.

Working closely with schools and families, you will get the chance to work with a small caseload providing a large amount of intervention and build strong therapeutic relationships. You will get to enjoy flexible working hours and a reduced working week during school holidays allowing for a nice work life balance. Working independently you will get to offer high levels of intervention and lead on your timetables to ensure the best quality service based on each individual child’s need.

The post also offers the opportunity for MDT working, we jointly run groups and sessions with our OTs.

Please note –

  • Applicants must hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registered with HCPC and RCSLT.
  • Salary and banding dependent on experience and in line with Agenda For Change and HCAS.
