About you…

Looking for an experienced, hardworking and passionate Sous to support the kitchen team. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience preparing fresh food, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. A successful candidate will have restaurant industry experience, a passion for food prep, and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food in a timely manner.
  • Clean work areas and kitchen areas.
  • Manage financial risks.
  • Be a leader and mentor to junior team members.
  • Organises and sets up the assigned section as efficiently as possible to increase speed and maximise productivity.
  • Ensures that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.
  • Assist the Head Chef in ensuring that all culinary standards comply with company and Hotel Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor and reduce food waste.
  • Ensures all health and safety/food safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Stays focused and is conscious about food presentation and consistency.
  • Practices proper food handling procedures.
  • Practices proper knife handling skills.
  • Keeps workstation clean at all times during service time.
  • Performs all duties in adherence to all company standards and policy
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary.
