We have an excellent opportunity for a Care Team Leader (Days) to join the magnificent team at our client’s nursing and care home providing care for the elderly in Great Oxendon, 5 minutes’ drive from Market Harborough.

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Team Leader to join their friendly, growing team at their care home, on a permanent basisThe successful applicant will have an NVQ level 3 Health & Social Care or equivalent.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in the role to progress their career. The hours of work are 7am-7pm with weekend availability/alternative weekends. 3 or 4 days a week.

The care home provides care to 43 elderly residents and is proud to be rated Good/Outstanding by the CQC.

The care home is an excellent residential and dementia home for the elderly, led by their greatly experienced manager who supports all the team, from the carers to the kitchen staff and housekeepers. The manager is assisted by the deputy manager and team leader to ensure there is always a member of the management team on hand to help every day of the week.

The management team are supported by the qualified and experienced team of carers including the specialist nurses. The dream team are dedicated to providing their duties to the best of their ability, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They provide both short-term and long-term residential care for the elderly and those living with dementia, as well as respite care for both elderly people and their carers. They are committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of the residents who live at the care home surrounded by fantastic country views in Great Oxendon, Northamptonshire.

About the Role:

  • Care Plans – To complete care plans for new admissions during the year within the required timescales, review care plans yourself each month, and ensure that all the other care plans are evaluated at least once every calendar month by the senior carers. Minimise the review points identified by the Deputy Manager(s) in order to assist in ensuring that the care plan audits always score in excess of 70.0%. Assist Deputy Manager(s) to ensure that care plan audit action plans are completed within one month of the audit being completed
  • Daily Charts Audits – Ensure daily charts audits score in excess of 80.0% by completing daily checks of the daily charts whenever on shift and following up any issues identified by these checks with training, supervisions or formal performance management
  • Medication – Assist Deputy Manager to ensure that weekly audits are completed, medication is requested in plenty of time, medication is booked in on a timely basis, all old medication is returned to the pharmacy every month, the medication audits always score in excess of 70.0%, and medication audit action plans are completed within one month of the audit being completed
  • One further objective to be set by the manager at their discretion based on the needs of the care home.

The residents rely on the commitment and understanding of their dedicated team of carers who provide so much more than just care. The team are committed to ensuring companionship with residents which is often built by taking part in the activities arranged by the home and supportive management team.

The friendly team work hard to ensure that their residential care home has a homely feel where each individual resident has the opportunity to have input into the activities within the home, menus and décor, among other things so that they are as engaged as possible in what is happening within their home.
